fish in a what?

What the heck does ‘fish in a blender’ mean? I love the idea of a fish swimming about, able to check everyone out, clueless to the fate that awaits him in the blades below. Kinda sadistic, I know…but…

We are that fish. This world is our blender. Some of us are in a state-of-the-art, professional chef type blender. Huge blades, sharp edges and lots of room to swim. Others are in our grandmother’s model, blades dull and jagged, thick blue glass distorting our view. Either way, there is death on the bottom, awaiting our lack of accountability, attention and focus. If, for just a juncture of time, we are to lose momentum, we risk sinking toward our own demise.

Below are tons of verses to continue with my point. As Christ followers, we need to fix our thoughts on Him – constantly. We need to encourage each other to be His House, to hold on to our courage and the hope that Christ has given us.

Remember the Israelites who wandered aimlessly in the desert for 40 years?

Hello! It wasn’t coincidence!

They hardened their hearts to God’s commandments. They rebelled against Him. They decided they knew better than Him. Any of this sound familiar?

– Have you hardened your heart to Christ? Have you stopped listening to His still, small voice that calls you from within?

– Have you rebelled against Him? Have you stopped obeying Him by no longer gathering in fellowship of His communion?

– Have you decided you know better than Christ? You’ve used justification after justification as to why you ‘can’t’ spend time in His word? You’ve got reasons galore for sleeping in on His sabbath?

You know full well that your salvation doesn’t depend on your works, but His grace alone, so you continue in your disobedience.

Ouch…can you feel the water being swirled about?

Christ has given us freedom. He has given us life. That life is through Him. It can never be gained through our own means, our own ideas or our own design. Stay focused. Stay faithful. Stay in His step. He will never disappoint.

  1. My goodness, Michelle, you’re preaching the word. But aren’t fish in any blender that hasn’t been de-bladed or unplugged pretty doomed? 🙂 (I know, I’m reading too fast, and it’s late. 🙂
